Nestled in the heart of Siargao, a popular island in the Philippines, Sugba Lagoon stands out as one of the archipelago’s most enchanting natural wonders.

So let’s dive into it and show you why Sugba Lagoon should be on your travel bucket list!

Getting to Sugba Lagoon

Reaching this island involves a scenic boat ride from Siargao Island. Most visitors start their journey from Dapa, the nearest port, and then take a boat ride that usually takes around 30 minutes. The trip itself is a delightful experience, offering views of Siargao’s lush landscapes and pristine waters.

When to Visit ☀️

Sugba Lagoon is open to visitors year-round, but the best time to go is between November and April when the rain is minimal. Keep in mind, though, that this period coincides with peak tourist season, which can lead to larger crowds. To enjoy a more peaceful experience, consider planning your visit for either the start or the end of this timeframe.

Prices 💰

The day trip costs around 1500 pesos (30 USD) per person or more if you book it in the tourist area of General Luna. However, if you go through our friend Noy, you’ll have a better offer. He is a local and offers the best prices – +63 927 971 9901 (What’s App).

When you get there, you’ll find a the pontoon house where everyone gathers. The entrance fee is 100 pesos.  They also charge 50 pesos for a table to store your belongings.

Important to know!

Sugba Lagoon has early opening hours and closes before nightfall, but it has a limited capacity to prevent overcrowding. At the moment, it can host a maximum of 100 visitors and allows guests to enjoy their stay for a maximum of three hours.
