2. How to get there 🚘

Yogyakarta is the best base for visiting the temple.

  • TransJogja Bus: The TransJogja bus service is an affordable and efficient option. Board Bus 1A from various points in Yogyakarta, such as Malioboro or the airport. The fare is IDR 3,600 per person. Bus Stop: Get off at the Prambanan bus stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the temple entrance.

3. Open Hours & Prices

The site opens daily from 6 AM to 5 PM. The entrance fee for international visitors is IDR 375,000. For domestic visitors, it’s IDR 50,000.

  • You can visit Borobudur and Prambana in one day. If you plan to do it, you can buy a combined ticket. It gives access to both temples. The combined ticket costs about 675,000 IDR (45 USD) for foreign adults and 405,000 IDR (27 USD) for children.
  • Drones are prohibited at the Prambanan Temple!
  • Bring plenty of water and some snacks.
  • Wear walking shoes and comfortable clothes (remember to dress appropriately).
  • Plan at least 3 hours for your visit.
